Farben – Farben
“Faitiche is very pleased to announce the release of a new Farben 12″ vinyl single. This is Jan Jelinek’s first release under the Farben pseudonym since 2004 and combines older, unreleased recordings with newly produced material. From 1998 to 2004 Farben produced techno and house abstractions which were characterized by their simple, geometric rhythms and detailed sound aesthetics. Journalist Philip Sherburne subsequently named this music ‘Microhouse’. Farben‘s original desire to convey the sexiness of a Burt Bacharach song in club music has now been abandoned. ”
To hear samples of the record, head over to the label’s official website.
” Full album release which was available in Japan as a limited edition (300 copies) CD release – featuring unreleased tracks and versions of deepchord tracks & plenty of unreleased cv313 content* Amazing set of live transmissions with nine tracks covering some of the finest in-the-moment versions of deep, dark and dubby classics. The “Live” element gives cv313 license for yet more coatings of static, droney dub textures and astral chord sequences, providing near-infinite variations of his amazingly well wrought theme that will immerse you in hazy textures from the off. Highly Recommended! ” via Boomkat
Diskjokke – En Fin Tid
Oslo-based label Smalltown Supersound is set to release En Fin Tid, the second album by Joachim Dyrdahl, AKA diskJokke.
“Along with artists like Prins Thomas, Todd Terje and Lindstrom, diskJokke is a central figure in Norway’s disco scene. He first made a splash in 2007 with Staying In, a debut album that earned praise from Spin, Filter and Pitchfork Media, and continued to gain popularity with remixes for Bloc Party, Charlotte Gainsbourg and more recently The xx. The new record, whose title translates to “a happy time,” grew out of a very significant turning point in Dyrdahl’s life: he became a father and decided to do music full time, setting aside his career in mathematics to focus completely on family life and the studio.
Like much of his work so far, En Fin Tid boasts the sunny, prog disco vibe for which Dyrdahl and his cohorts are known. The album draws inspiration from Brian Eno, Arthur Russell and the Alan Parsons Project, as well as krautrock artists like Tangerine Dream and Holger Czukay of Can. ” via RA

Ital Tek – Midnight Colour
Brighton based producer Alan Myson’s Ital Tek project returns to Planet Mu for a second long player.
Meeting dubstep and garage’s matrix of sub bass and lurching 2-step rhythms half-way with electronica at its most melodic, ‘Midnight Colour’ is its name and it’s epic. The mood has lightened since his debut ‘Cyclical’ plus the tempo has dropped to a more languorous 130 bpm creating more space to enfold the melody and texture.
Songs like ‘Moonbow’ or ‘Subgiant’ embody an optimistic nocturnal reverie that could count the Black Dog’s ‘Bytes’ album as it’s ancestor. In contrast, ‘Satellite’ has a darker feel with it’s New Romantic style synth melodies set to a skeletal rhythm, and ‘Black and White’s surging, wordless vocals are carried by gentle synths and bass arrangements. ‘Strangelove’ has a more stepping feel, set to a tough 4/4 beat and ‘Infinite’ marries throbbing bass with marimba and echoing Timpani crashes. The album fittingly culminates with ‘Restless Tundra’, a song that features the vocals of Anneka, which feature in sampled slithers throughout many of the tracks, the piece summing up the reflective mood of the album. via planet mu

Nosaj Thing
After last years Drift LP, Nosaj Thing has confounded a worldwide audience of open-minded ravers with his unique marriage of glitchy electronics, dubby instrumentals, bumping beats, and a fuzzy blizzard of blazed ambience. He has found the perfect home on Alpha Pup, bringing a certain cinematic atmosphere to the West Coast beat scene. His live performances see him racking his samples along his trusty Akai MPD 32, and re-interpreting his tracks with frenetic energy, in stark contrast to the deep tones of his studio productions. His music has also struck a chord with film makers like Dugan O’Neal, and last year he completed a rack of remixes for the likes of Blank Blue, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Nalepa, Freeland, and Boris’ Buzz In: AV remix project. Beneath the calm, placid exterior, there’s a storm brewing. via RBMA Radio

The Radio Sessions
Electronic Beats On Air by Marcel Dettmann
“After a four-month hiatus, The Radio Sessions – Electronic Beats On Air are back on Motor FM – just in time for the sunshine. As ever, The Radio Sessions will be on Motor FM each and every Thursday at 10 p.m. with weekly guests, who will be interviewed and provide an one-hour mix.
You will remember with our last series of radio sessions we welcomed guests such as Coldcut, Jesse Rose, Stimming and Simian Mobile Disco. This season looks even stronger.
To start proceedings we have none other that Marcel Dettmann. You may know him from his MDR label releases, perhaps you know him from remixing the likes of Ellen Allien or maybe you know him from any number of his worldwide DJ sets? The truth is, you most likely know him for his long standing Panorama Bar /Berghain residency, which he began when it opened its doors all the way back in 1999 (when it was called Ostgut). We couldn’t think of anyone better to start proceedings than one of the finest residents in the world, as we all know, the residents job is easily one of the hardest in club-land. We expect a fine session with Dettmann in his now celebrated, deep and dark style of techno.” text by Kazim Rashid

[6ONE6CD07] Quantec – Thought Experiment
German recording artist Sven Schienhammer aka Quantec (Echochord, Styrax, !K7, Aesthetic Audio Detroit, Millions Of Moments), graces the 6ONE6 camp with 5 deep moving tracks. Thought Experiment is just that – an aural experiment into sound, that evokes subconscious thought. Those that know the Quantec sound, are familiar with the washed out grooves and sub‐leveled depths present in his soundscape. An excellent addition to a growing collective.

Piano, cello, and various percussion were recorded and altered using Wouter’s wall of tape recorders and Greg’s laptop before being structured into some kind of electro-acoustic ‘song’.

This March, Peter Van Hoesen will release his debut album, Entropic City, and begin a residency at Fuse, a techno club in his hometown of Brussels.
The album will show two sides of Van Hoesen: the dark, galloping style he’s focused on for the past few years and some slower, less club-oriented sounds. Van Hoesen has released three avant-garde albums before, under the pseudonyms Object, RM and Bent Object, and although Entropic City is primarily a techno album, Van Hoesen’s experimental tendencies seep through a bit on tracks like “Into Entropy,” “Republic” and “Closing the Distance/Toy Universe.” Quoted from RA
